Ho, Ho, Ho (believe me, that phrase has been used in a lot of contexts that bring a fond smile to my face), I am officially in the Christmas spirit after watching my fave movie (now officially declared) for the Season, 'This Christmas'.
This movie reminds you of the joy and laughter associated with Christmas, and left me with a nostalgic feeling.
My favourite character was Regina King's antagonistic sister (Shanon Leal) who engages in a holiday tryst with her older brother's old school mate (Mekhi Phifer). That's how to be the playette (I'm not giving any girls ideas please). However, my poignant moment was the manner with which Regina King dealt with her husband (Laz Alonso) for his indiscretions (Is that how it works?).
Anyway, the movie is to be seen, laughed at/with, and thoroughly enjoyed this season, it's definitely my Christmas No. 1.

Pick of the Week - Sexy Winter
I've decided to take my mind off the things of the world that tend to creep in and bother me once in a while by doing what I do best, Shopping. I'm thinking of spreading a little Christmas cheer on my wardrobe by bringing in a new housemate (don't you just love my analogies).

Soulmate (Full Video)
Seeing as my earlier blog was all about the intricacies finding a soulmate. This song comes through as a reflection of what runs through my head sometimes.
Enjoy.

Desperation - A sign on my forehead?
Out of boredom, I'm gonna have a good humorous chinwag with the girls.
I've had my fair share of man drama and I'm not sure how much more I can take (cos the things that happen to me are not normal).
I bet my mum (and incidentally now, my dad) would love to see a happily joined to a man but, I'm not going down without a fight (Jokingly, I have a Rocky Balboa/Jackie Chan fight sequence set out in my head where they push me towards the altar and I'm taking each obstacle down in a bid to head out the door). But seriously, I would love to be happily joined to the man of my dreams however, I'm crying inside right now cos it ain't an easy journey for this girl here, and the game ain't getting easier with time.
Seriously girls, can I bypass this stage of my life, fast forward a bit (the movie 'click' comes to mind) and find myself married and pregnant (crazyyyyyy and going cuckoo). Okay, I'll leave the mental idealism I just outlined to you all and be realistic, I can't handle anymore matchmaking gone wrong, incompatibility struggles, manic pleas to give dating a chance like you are buying something and you have a 28-day return policy to use, or the fear having to ask a guy I like out on a date and get rejected (see I'm normal).
On a positive note, I've decided that even though its shorter days and long nites with darkened skylines and sub-zero temperatures, I'll not be blending into the dark. I could try by using the English tradition of kissing under the mistletoe. I'll carry around a piece of mistletoe just in case I run into a tall, dark, and handsome stranger (it could end up being a feline dog standing on its hind legs, knowing my luck, who looks cute after a few cocktails). At least it's what they say, if Mohammed doesn't come to the mountain, the mountain (in this case, me) will come to Mohammed (who thinks like this, only Kaffy). My friends don't know what to do with me and my men, and I don't either.
Hello, is it me you're looking for.....(Don't you just love Lionel Richie at the best of times). I'll sleep and be woken up by a kiss from my Prince Charming (na yam).
For all the gilrs who share predicament, let's form a support group (only joking), for those who don't have my problem, what are your tips, for those who pity me please don't, for those finding this funny that's the intention.

Play your part in the Nigerian Entertainment Award Nominations
It's a well-known fact that Nigeria's Entertainment Industry is the third largest, well-known and quite profitable sector. As a result, it shouldn't come as a surprise that there's Award shows and Festivals recognising and showcasing the talents of the well-celebrated actors, actresses, and other creative artists.
Preparations are underway for the Nigeria Entertainment Festival and Awards 2008 (this is the who's who of the entertainment industry awards) http://www.nigeriaentertainment.com/and nominations are being sought for some of the categories such as Top 10 Comedians and Top 10 Musicians (which I am sure a lot of people have their favourites). There's even awards for the Top 10 Footballers, how cool is that.
Anyway, I'm sure it will be fun if everyone tried to make a nomination or two and get the awards to the right favourites so please go ahead and try your hand at nominating wherever you are. You can even request passes to the event, if you wanna go.
As an aside, I'm loving a soap which airs on the Africa Channel on Sky (I think its Channel 281) called 'Jacob's Cross'. Its very well produced, directed and smooth acting by an all Africa cast. Its very original in its portrayal which gives a sense of accurate researching for all the characters (even the scenes shot in Nigeria of the chieftancy ceremony were phenomenal).
Its based on an illegitimate child who is the fruit of an affair between his Nigerian (Yoruba) Mogul father and a South African mother, and made the successor to his father's empire which angers his half brother who swears to cause havoc to his life. This illegitimate child is himself embarking on the same path as his father by having a mistress he is in love with even though he is married to a woman in a loveless marriage. Check it out on Saturday night at about 9.00pm or 10.00pm (not sure which it is ).

Ho, Ho, Ho, Countdown to Christmas
Girlsssssssss I know what you gonna say(at least I hope that's what you are all gonna say), Where have I been?

My dress is a grey and sequin-embroidered number from Lipsy (http://www.lipsy.co.uk/) and they have a great range of party dresses this Christmas which meet the requirements I have emphasised over and over again i.e sparkly, glittery, short, body-enhancing, flirty, and of good quality so will see a lot of wears. The Lipsy range is also available in House of Fraser stores for those who don't have the courage to buy dresses online (even though it is likely that there'll be less to chose from in the stores). For me, Lipsy is absolutely fabulous for letting my hair down this Christmas and I hope you'll all join me in doing the same.
